Deposit & Guarantee
We require a $10 deposit for each of your guests to secure your reservation in our books whether or not you're closing the room to the public. This deposit will be deducted from the balance of your bill the day of the event. However, it is non-refundable if you cancel or your group's size decreases, so make sure you have a close to accurate count. If you need to increase the size of the party, you can call at any time and we will be happy to do so with an additional deposit. Deposits are accepted in cash, check, or credit card over the phone. Once the deposit is received you will be given a receipt/confirmation with the date and time of your reservation and other pertinant information.
There will be a minimum charge for cocktail/appetizer parties in the amount of $10 per person in food to secure as many seats. For example, if your appetizer order is $300, you will have 30 seats reserved for your party.
Room Charge
The upstairs game room at McNear's Restaurant can be closed to the public for 3 hours. The room charge will include your own event staff and the pool balls which normally have to be rented.
If your party is booked before 5pm Sunday - Thursday or before 4pm on Friday or Saturday, the room charge is $1000. The charge for evening rentals is $2000 and a guarantee of 80 full dinners or buffet. Special arrangements can be made for parties of less than 80 people.
The room charge varies for the Mystic Theatre events, therefore, the cost is determined on a per-event basis.
Pre-Ordering
In order for us to provide the best service for your guests and our other guests, we require a preorder for food. A due date will be provided for you once your reservation is confirmed.
Bar Services
Below is a list of the types of Bar set-ups you may choose from for your special event:
1. No Bar Required
2. Full Host Bar - Persons or group hosting the event has an open and unlimited bar tab for the guests. The total will be added to the bill after the event with a 17% gratuity added.
3. Limited Host Bar - A preset limit is determined by the host for bar services. Once that limited is reached the host will be told that the tab has reached its limit and guests will be responsible for paying for their drinks. The host's portion of the bar total will be added to the bill and a 17% gratuity will be added.
4. No Host Bar - Guests pay for their own cocktails as they get them.
5. Drink Tokens - Each guest is given a pre-determined number of drink tokens by the host. The tokens are of unlimited value - that is, the guest may purchase a drink of any value with it. The bartender keeps track of the drinks purchased with the tokens and the total is added to the final bill. A 17% gratuity will be added.
6. Valued Drink Tokens - Tokens are pre-purchased for a set dollar amount (e.g. each token is worth $5.00) and distributed by the host to the guests. As they order drinks they present the tokens for payment. If the price of the drink is over the value of the token, the guest pays the difference. No change is given for tokens.
Corkage / Cake Serving Fee
McNear's charges a $15 corkage fee per bottle of wine. If you are interested in serving bottles of wine at your event, it may be a better value for you to order off of McNear's wine list. If you don't see what you're looking for just ask and we can order it!
McNear's charges a $7 cake serving fee, which includes the paper plates, forks, napkins and cutting utensils. If you would like one of our servers to cut and serve the cake, we will also do that.
Minors
People under the age of 21 are allowed at special private functions. However, in order to comply with existing laws our staff will ask for identification before serving anyone looking under the age of 30. Ask all of your guests to bring ID or they may be refused service.
Smoking
Smoking is never permitted inside the building at any time. Guests who do smoke can do so outside on the patio or under the marquee. Cigar/pipe smoking is not permitted in McNear's anywhere at anytime.
Linens / Decorations
McNear's will gladly order any special linens / decorations you may want for your function. We will provide them at our cost plus 10%. Table cloths only are $3.50 per table. McNear's always covers the cost of putting linen on the buffet table. If you will be brining in your own table decorations, you can do so no earlier than 1/2 hour before your contracted arrival time. This gives our staff enough time to set your tables completely. We also ask that you not bring confetti or glitter.
Specialty Items
McNear's can order any specialty items you may want for your event (e.g. votive candles, coat racks, etc.). We will provide them at our cost plus 10%.

McNear's has rolled out our new Online Banquet System in which you can set-up you're event using our web-based system as soon as you know you are ready to book it! After all of your information is collected and your menus are selected, McNear's will receive an email alerting us of your request.
We will contact you to collect a $100 deposit to secure the reservation and then activate your banquet in our system. Once the banquet is activated your email invitations will be sent out and your guests can begin RSVPing! It's so easy! You can log in at any time to view up to the minute totals on the cost of your event and get an RSVP status on your guests.
